| Chavez: Julio Jr. is Very Hungry To Win Zbik's WBC Title
|
|
By Jhonny Gonzalez The legendary Julio Cesar Chavez said his son, unbeaten Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., is very hungry to become the WBC middleweight champion. Chavez Sr. has seen a new hunger in his son's training and mental outlook. Chavez Jr. faces champion Sebastian Zbik on June 4 in Los Angeles, California. Chavez Sr. is very happy with the progress of his son's training at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood. Chavez Sr. is planning to join his son at the Wild Card in order to teach him a few tactics for the upcoming fight. "Julio's mistakes are being corrected by [trainer] Freddie Roach and he will be in great physical condition; coming in at 100% for the fight. Instead of releasing five shots, he must connect with at least ten to defeat the German," said Chavez Sr. "I'm going to teach him how to release the double hook to the liver, which is the same punch that I used to throw." Martinez's agent talked to both Zbik and Chavez's agents and challenged them for a match after their fight. Zbik already agreed to a fight with Maravilla, but Chavez Jr refused to fight him in case he gets the belt. As Maravilla is the emeritus champion, he's allowed to fight for the title whenev... |
