Omar "Businessman" Chavez (32-3-1, 22KOs) is hoping for a rematch with Jalisco's Ramon "Innocent" Alvarez (20-4-2, 12KOs), who defeated him last Saturday in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas, Mexico. All three judges saw Alvarez the winner with scores of 96-94, 96-94, and 98-92. Omar, the younger brother of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., wants some payback with Ramon, the older brother of Saul "Canelo" Alverez.
"To win you have to know how to lose. Congratulations to Ramon. I hope that he gives me the rematch wherever [he] wants [to do it]. It's okay, it's not the end of the world. I'm young, I'm 24 years old. This was a setback that will make me better," said Omar.
"I had a very bad night, good for him. It happens to everybody, even the greatest fighters. Ramon did an excellent fight, he had good preparation, a good plan of work and I'm not taking any credit away from him....he had a good win, but I put in a very bad fight."
