Top Rank VP Carl Moretti confirms that his company is still very interested in making a fight between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. of Mexico and WBC/WBA 'regular' super middleweight champion Carl Froch.

On Monday, Froch's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport, told BoxingScene.com's Shaun Brown that discussions restarted for the potential match.

One date being looked at is January 24th in Las Vegas. Moretti stresses that his discussions for Chavez-Froch are still in the very early stages.

"It's what we're talking about, but there is still a lot of work to do. We talked about it for late January in Las Vegas. But it was only a conversation without any agreements on money," Moretti told Carlos Narvaez.

Moretti also labeled inaccurate reports of a Chavez-Miguel Cotto clash for December 6th as being "crazy."
