Promoter Fernando Beltran of Zanfer Promotions has advised multiple outlets in Mexico that Chavez vs. Alvarez agreement is very close - and it's not the Chavez-Alvarez that fight fans are dreaming of - an all-Mexican dream match between Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. The two boxers are now too far apart in weight to make that match happen in the near future.

Beltran revealed that discussions have become more serious for a junior middleweight fight between the siblings of the two fighters. A date of September 13th is being targeted for a match between Omar Chavez (32-2-1, 23KOs), the younger brother of Julio, and the older brother of Canelo, Ramon Alvarez (18-4-2, 11KOs).

There is bad blood between the two and they have exchanged words through the social networks.

Then they have to do it NOW!! Like right now. This is as close as they will get with Chavez willing to come down to 160 still and Canelo being easily able to get to 160 without even trying. I want to see this and I'd be riding with Jr on this one all the way!!! WAR CHAVEZ!!!!!
