Charlo, Caballero, Breazeale, Robles Jr. Win in Ontario

By Rick Reeno

Citizens Business Bank Arena, Ontario, California - Junior middleweight contender Jermell Charlo (19-0, 9KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over Dashon Johnson (13-9-3, 4KOs). The scores were 100-89, 99-90 and 98-91. In what turned out to be a tougher fight than expected, Charlos used his jab as the main weapon to box his way to lopsided win. The awkward Johnson was very defensive at times and often threw wild punches.

Hot junior featherweight prospect Randy Caballero (17-0, 9KOs) stopped Rigoberto Casillas (8-9-1, 6KOs) within three rounds of action.

Heavyweight Olympian Dominic Breazeale (2-0, 2KOs) stopped Mike Bissett (1-1, 1KO) in the second round. Bissett was catching Breazeale good in the first, but soon got caught with a series of punches and went down. It didn't take long for Bissett to go down for a second time in the contest, but he made it out of the round. At the start of the second, Bissell got hit right on the chin and went down for a third time. After going down for a fourth time, the referee waved it off.

Featherweight prospect Manny Robles Jr. (3-0, 2KO) easily demolished Misael Martinez (0-7) in the first round. After catching Martinez with a hard hook against the ropes, Robles trapped him in the corner and unleashed a barrage of punches to get the TKO at 2:13.

0-7? How does a guy with 0-6 get permitted to fight and who is gutless enough to fight him?
