Charles Hatley, Brother Arrested in Heavy Bag Pot Bust

By Mark Vester

Undefeated welterweight contender Charles Hatley (14-0, 11KOs) and his brother, light heavyweight Greg Hatley (3-1, 3KOs), were busted in St. Franics, Arkanas after a police deputy found a heavy bag filled with bags of marijuana in their car. The two brothers were stopped for a traffic violation. When the deputy smelled the heavy odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, he checked the vehicle and found 23 bags of marijuana in the heavy bag. They are charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.

A police spokesperson said - "they told the deputy at the scene that they were coming from Mississippi, where they tried to sell the pot. They were not successful in selling it, so they were heading back to Texas."
