Cesar Cuenca-Vicente Mosquera Showdown in Play

Undefeated Argentine junior welterweight contender Cesar Rene Cuenca could be facing the former world champion of the WBA, at super featherweight, Panama's Vicente "Loco" Mosquera. The match could take place in April or May. Mosquera said his agent stated the fight would be a WBO eliminator for a shot at the title, which is curently vacant.

"My agent assured me that I will be fighting an eliminator against Cuenca, but right now I am focused on Contrera, and then I'll think about my next opponent," said Mosquera.

Cuenca has one of more infamous records in boxing. He is undefeated in 43 fights, but only has one knockout victory in his entire career. He is ranked at number four by the WBO and holds a regional title under the sanctioning body. Mosquera has a record of 31-2-1, 17 KO and is ranked at number nine by the WBO.

On January 24th Mosquera will be facing Dominican Francisco Contreras for the WBO's Latino junior welterweight crown at the Hotel Riu Plaza in Panama City.
