Celestino Caballero More Than Happy to Unify With Salido

By Jhonny Gonzalez

As previously reported, WBA featherweight champion Celestino Caballero (36-4, 23KOs) wanted the winner of Saturday's rematch between Orlando Salido and Juan Manuel Lopez. At the recent WBA convention in Panama, Caballero says he spoke to Top Rank's Vice President Carl Morretti about facing the Salido-Juanma winner in July.

Salido stopped Juanma in the tenth round to retain his WBO featherweight crown. If a fight with Salido can't be made, Caballero is ready to unify against anyone else at the weight - including IBF champion Billy Dib of Australia and WBC champion Jhonny Gonzalez of Mexico.

"I am waiting to arrange a unification with any of the featherweight champions of the other sanctioning organizations. I'm ready to fight any of them and I hope to make something soon," Caballero said.

the trashing of caballero, especially for trying to make fights baffles me. we have all these fighters elite or not who always have excuses for not fighting this guy or that guy. at least in pelenchin we have a fighter…

I would like to this fight Caba vs Salido or Salido vs Gonzalez either fight would do.

Caba only looks impressive against fighters who aren't good or little 5'3 inch midgets, Salido would batter and stop him.

Does this means that we finally get Caballero vs Lopez? Maybe Celestino is more than willing to travel to Mexico and fight Salido there since he has done it in the past with other fighters in other countries

Salido will crush Caballero.
