Celestino Caballero Makes Promotional Debut on 4/14

By Ricardo Achibold Mendez

The current world featherweight champion of the World Boxing Association, Panamanian Celestino 'Pelenchín' Caballero , now wants to follow in the footsteps of his colleagues, Oscar de la Hoya, Sergio Martinez, Saul Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao - becoming a boxing promoter.

Caballero will debut his new side on the 14th of April, 'Pelenchín Boxing Promotion.' taking place at the Arena Teófilo Panamá Al Brown de Colón.

"I know that my retirement is near, but I will not walk away from boxing, so the idea is to become a promoter, to support the fighters of my country and my province of Colon, because that way I can help them fulfill their dreams," Caballero said.

The main event of the evening will feature a fight between the Panamanian Miguel Callits and Nicaragua's Miguel Solis Moses, for the Fecarbox crown at 140 pounds.

Former most feared man in the world, along with Paul Williams. Because some people dream that every tall-for-his-division-boxer is Thomas Hearns. Only one Thomas Hearns, and that is Thomas Hearns.
