Celestino Caballero Focused on Knocking Barros Out

By Ryan Burton

BoxingScene.com recently caught up with former super bantamweight champion Celestino "Pelenchin" Caballero (35-4) who lost a controversial unanimous decision in July to Jonathan Barros (33-1-) in Argentina. Many observers felt that Caballero did enough to win the fight in which the WBA featherweight title was at stake.

The rematch is set for October 14th. The fight will once again take place in Barros' home country of Argentina. Caballero doesn't want to leave the outcome in the judges hands this time around. "I am going to knock him out," stated Caballero to BoxingScene.com. "I can't let them do that to me again. Everyone knows I beat him. I would rather die in the ring then ave that happen again."

Pelenchin's trainer Jeff Mayweather is optimistic that his fighter will receive fair treatment in the rematch, especially after the controversial outcome of the first fight.

"I would hate to tell any fighter that they have to win by knockout," said Mayweather. "Given what happened in the first fight I would hope that they would be fair in the rematch."
