Cecilia Braekhus Pushing Herself in Camp To The Limit

Some 20 miles east of Berlin, WBA / WBC / WBO Female Welterweight Champion Cecilia Braekhus (20-0, 5 KOs) has been sweating like never before. The First Lady is pushing herself to the limit in Kienbaum, an ultra modern training camp base that hosted many German athletes prior to the 2012 Olympic Games. She is determined to be in the shape of her life against French KO Queen Anne Sophie Mathis (26-2, 22 KOs).

The two stand-out fighters will battle out women´s boxing supremacy in Frederikshavn on September 22. “I love and hate Kienbaum both at the same time,” Braekhus said. “It´s in the middle of no-where, so it´s pretty boring and all you can do is train, train, train. It´s a bit of a hell to be honest and incredibly exhausting. But on the other hand, that´s exactly what I need before a fight. The solitude and the tough physical exercises make me very strong. It will ultimately help me on September 22 when I need to be at the top of my game to defeat Mathis.”

There are exciting times coming up for Braekhus´ training group. On August 25, “King” Arthur Abraham will challenge WBO Super-Middleweight Champion Robert Stieglitz at the o2 World in Berlin. On September 15, IBF Cruiserweight Champion Yoan Pablo Hernandez makes his mandatory defence against Troy Ross in Bamberg. And one week later, Braekhus intends to make the fight of her life. “There are some big fights coming up, so everybody is fired up and really excited,” she said. “That´s good because the concentration and the focus in practice has never been higher. We are all on a mission and hopefully we can clinch three big victories for our team.”

she stays hidden over in Germany & Scandanavia & she's of average ability, nothing great, as she says she is, doubt she could beat Hannah Gabriel...

No responses? I just started watching some clips of her. Shes pretty technically sound. I'll keep an eye out.
