Cayo vs Coleman Announced For Las Vegas Showdown

LAS VEGAS - On Friday, April 29, 2011 The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will present the second installment of "Fight Night at The Cosmopolitan," to be televised live on ESPN2's "Friday Night Fights." In conjunction with Warriors Boxing Promotions and Blue Wave Group, The Cosmopolitan proudly presents another uniquely glamorous evening of world-class professional boxing; and this time, overlooking the heart of the Strip on the open-air multilevel deck of the city's most fabulous luxury pool, The Boulevard Pool. Tickets go on sale Monday, March 28 and are priced at $50, $150 and $250 for the VIP experience, which includes a private section with comfortable seating and complimentary cocktails. Special Cabana packages also are available. Tickets are available for purchase at www.cosmopolitanlasvegas.com or by calling 877-551-7776 or 702-698-6880.

"Fight Night at The Cosmopolitan"combines the mystique and heart-pounding excitement of legendary Las Vegas boxing matches with a new and socially dynamic VIP experience at the heart of the dazzling Las Vegas Strip to bring fans an adventurous but uniquely sophisticated atmosphere. Fighting in the night's 12-round main event will be the Dominican Republic's once-beaten IBF #3-rated Victor "Mermelada" Cayo (20-1, 18 KOs) in an IBF Super Lightweight elimination bout, most likely against Baltimore's IBF #5-rated Tim "Pitbull" Coleman (18-1-1, 5 KOs), pending approval. Cayo and Coleman will be competing for the right to face brand-new IBF champion Zab Judah.

Scheduled for the undercard are undefeated Cuban knockout artist Yunier Dorticos (10-0, 10 KO's), undefeated Cuban super featherweight Rances Barthelemy (10-0, 8 KO's), and Texas lightweight Hylon Williams Jr., (12-0, 3 KOs) in separate bouts.

"This is, quite simply, the Friday Night Fights broadcast of the year," said Leon Margules, President of Warriors Boxing. "This is a terrific main event being held in the most beautiful space in all of Las Vegas. This show will set a new precedent for beautiful boxing locales in the United States."

Luis DeCubas, co-promoter and President of Blue Wave Group, agrees."This is the perfect location," said DeCubas. "Open air with so many great vantage points, plus the broadcast on the giant marquee. I'm very proud to be a part of this amazing event."

All opponents will be announced shortly.
