Castaneda Says His Experience is Key Against Lopez
CAGUAS, PR – In another classic battle of the Puerto Rico vs. Mexico eternal rivalry; Jose 'Wonder Boy' Lopez's opponent landed in Puerto Rico ready for a war. The Aztec warrior Roberto "Azabache" Castañeda came in with one goal in mind - to cause the first defeat of Lopez's rising career this coming Saturday, August 16th at the Hector Sola Bezares Coliseum.
"You can expect a battle, a war. We're going to leave everything in the ring. We did a hard training because we know that we a tough opponent on Lopez," said the Mexican fighter during a workout at the gym of Miguel Cotto's Foundation in Caguas.
Lopez, the FECARBOX super bantamweight champion, will make his second defense of his title against Castañeda in the co-featured bout of the undercard 'Future Stars' - presented by Miguel Cotto Promotions in association with Top Rank and H2 Entertainment.
"I honestly do not know much about his style, I just know his name and his record, but my experience will be the dominant factor in the fight. I have to put in practice everything I've learned in my fights," said Castaneda.
In the main event , Felix 'El Diamante' Verdejo (13-0, 10 KO's) will fight his first 8 round bout against Chilean warrior Oscar 'La Maquina' Bravo (23-5, 9 KO's).
The program will be broadcasted as part of Univision Deportes ‘Solo Boxeo Tecate’ Series.
“FUTURE STARS” is presented by Cotto Promotions in association with Top Rank and H2 Entertainment and will be televised live at 11pm ET/PT on Univision Deportes.
