Carlos Quintana Hopes To Face Jermain Taylor on 12/30
By Rey Colon
Former WBO welterweight champion, Carlos "El Indio" Quintana (28-3, 22 KO's), who hasn't fought since February, hopes to reappear on December 30th against former middleweight king Jermain Taylor (28-4-1, and 17 KOs), inactive since 2009. Jesse Nicklow (22-3-2, 8 KOs) was named as the opponent, but some type of issue may lead to Quintana stepping in. Quintana was scheduled to fight on October 29th against Jorge 'Destroyer' Melendez (21-2-1, 20 KO's) but he suffered a nose injury in a sparring session and had to withdraw.
"They are looking for an opponent and we're available. Let's see what happens. We're trying to see what happens with that situation. It would be a good opportunity," Quintana said.
