Cosmopolitan Resort, Las Vegas, Nevada - Carlos Molina (18-4-2, 6KOs) stopped Allen Conyers (12-5, 9KOs) in the seventh round of a junior middleweight contest.
A clash of heads in the third round opened up a cut above the left eye of Conyers. In the fourth round, Conyers scored a flash knockdown when Molina slipped up, but it was Molina who dominated the action with his right hand. Molina's work to the body was destroying Conyers in each round. The punishment, and the action, was very one-sided with each passing round. Finally, Tony Weeks had seen enough in seventh round and stopped the fight at 2:09.
Lightweight contender Hylon Williams Jr. (14-0, 3KOs) opened up the televised broadcast of ESPN's Friday Night Fights, with an eight round unanimous decision over game challenger Marcos Herrera (6-5-1, 2KOs). Williams took his time, picked his shots well and outboxed Herrera. The scores were 79-73, 79-73 and 77-75.
Heavyweight prospect Glendy Hernandez (10-0, 6KOs) won a four round unanimous decision over Ken Frank (4-2-1, 2KOs). The scores were 40-36, 39-37 and 39-37.
