MGM Grand, Las Vegas - Legal adviser Leon Margules has informed BoxingScene.com that IBF junior middleweight champion Carlos 'King' Molina will defend his belt against mandatory challenger Cornelius "K9" Brundage on October 11th in Cancun, Mexico. The fight will take place at the Grand Oasis and Pepe Gomez of Cancun Boxing will co-promote the card.

Molina (22-5-2, 6 KO) has not fought since last September, when he won the world title from Ishe Smith in Las Vegas. He was set to face Jermall Charlo in March, but the fight was canceled after Molina was arrested a few days before the fight, over an outstanding warrant, and later deported back to Mexico over a visa issue. Brundage (33-5, 19 KO) is coming off a January final eliminator win over Joey Hernandez.
