Carlos Cuadras is Open To Facing Edgar Sosa Next

New WBC super flyweight champion Carlos “Príncipe” Cuadras (30-0, 24KOs), has been describing the Battle Royal, in which he dethroned Srisaket Sor Rungvisai last Saturday in Mexico City...and his future plans.

“It was a tough fight, but we managed to win. The headbutts happened because of the stance of both of us. I’d love to have kept fighting but this is sometimes how things happen in boxing.

“To have the green belt of the WBC is a great emotion. This is something I used to dream about when I was a little boy. I felt a great satisfaction for what I have worked. I thank the WBC for the chance."

Regarding of his plans for the future, Cuadras said:

“I want to defend my belt and then move to bantamweight. For the time being I feel good at super flyweight. I’d love defend my title against Edgar Sosa. Edgar is a great fighter and it would be a great championship challenge.

So no rematch and does he want to move up in weight after one defense it didn't come off as concrete. Sosa is a name in the lower weights but Cuadras would make it easy how about a Narvaez unification…

That belt was well earned. I liked the way he boxed and pulled those thudding combos that stunned Srisaket, however Sor has cement in his gloves. That body shot nearly folded Cuadras in the 6th or 7th round, good thing…

Cuadras looked good winning that title. Bring on Sosa :boxing:
