Carlos Cuadras Faces Sonny Boy Jaro on September 20

By Miguel Rivera

Carlos Cuadras (30-0, 24KOs) will make the first defense of his title on September 20th against dangerous Filipino Sonny Boy Jaro (37-13-5, 27KOs) at a venue in Mexico to be determined. Televisa Deportes will showcase the contest. Cuardas became the champion in May with an eight round technical decision over Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. Jaro, who in 2012 got a shocking knockout of Pongsaklek Wonjongkam, has won his last three fights and all of them came by way of knockout.

Pathetic opponent but not surprising these days. Almost everybody who wins an alphabet bet gets paid to beat up a cupcake in their first "title defense." Hopefully a better opponent next time

He can have a easy defense but his next fight best be a higher level.

Very disappointing. Cuadras should be facing a real 115 pound contender.
