Croatia had provided stiff competiton, but a contingent from Wales, which came out to this year's ongoing bun fight in Las Vegas pulled off a decisive win. Strangely there had been suggestions that Cardiff in the Autumn might be too climatically chilly to be suitable. But the fact that these type of conventions are typically held indoors and the prospective warmth of welcome from the land of the Red Dragon, extinguished remaining doubts to verbal cinders.
Former WBC Welterweight Champion John H Stracey who's one of the team leaders of the triumphant Cardiff Venue program, said that the quality of Cardiff had been amply displayed with an extremely successful WBC Night of the Champions, which it had hosted in 2010.
He enthused: "Cardiff has so much to offer with excellent hotels close to each other. There's also a fantastic arena and stadium. The array of facilities are the best in Britain."
The event is sure to attract a massive turnout of champions- former and reigning. John also pointed out: "Here in this WBC Convention in Las Vegas, you get a lot of Americans and Mexicans. But what I think'll be great in Cardiff is that there'll also be a lot of Europeans who are champions. It'll be a great opportunity to showcase all of our champions.
