Jose "Chepo" Reynoso, trainer for WBC middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs), is not overlooking the challenge of  Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs).

Khan is moving up by eight pounds to face Canelo at a catch-weight of 155-pounds on May 7th from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Chepo explained why their side decided to choose Khan, who was passed over in the last year by both Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao.

"We chose Khan because it's one of the most attractive fights out there at the moment," Reynoso told ESPN Deportes. "Khan is a very fast fighter who neither Floyd Mayweather nor Manny Pacquiao wanted to give a chance, and we're doing it."

Chepo says everyone should not overlook the dangerous nature of the fight when counting Khan out. He views Khan as a very fast fighter and a very smart fighter, who has the right tools to give Canelo problems if they are not properly prepared. Chepo feels confident that Canelo will be able to nullify Khan's speed in the contest.

"Yes, his speed can be dangerous, but Khan is not only fast, he's a thinking fighter," Reynoso said. "He works the angles well in the ring, but fortunately there's time to work on preparation and compete on speed. Canelo is also a fast fighter, so hopefully we can nullify what appears to be an advantage for Khan."

The training camp is going to start in Mexico, but they are soon going to move things over at the start of March to California, where Canelo has trained for his last few fights.

"This month we'll be working in Mexico, before we go over to California for camp at the beginning of March."
