WBC/WBA 154-pound junior middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) is less than a month away from his showdown with Floyd Mayweather Jr. (44-0, 26KOs), set for September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Although Mayweather is 36-years-old and there are those who question whether the boxer is still at his bext, but Canelo says Floyd is still the best boxer in the world, pound-for-pound, and he will treat him as such when they step in the ring.
"To me Floyd Mayweather is still the pound for pound king of the world. I will not rely on what other people say. I've been preparing for the best Mayweather regardless of age. All training camps are different and the scenarios and the sparring. We are excited and taking things day by day to get in perfect condition for the fight. The aim [in camp] was to be calm and secluded to avoid distractions and this camp in Big Bear has given us clam. We have sparring partners who fight like Mayweather and we've done very well against them, which is going to show on the day of the fight," Canelo said.
