MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas, Nev. - Earlier today Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (46-1-1) and Amir "King" Khan (31-3) made their grand arrivals for their May 7th pay-per-view showdown.
The fight will the be the first boxing event at the newly constructed T-Mobile Arena that sits adjacent to the the New York New York Hotel & Casino on the Las Vegas strip.
While Canelo doesn't expect the Bolton, UK native to stand and trade with him, he does expect the fight to be action packed.
"I can't worry about what Khan is going to do in the ring. I am focused on what I am going to to do. One thing I do know is that Amir Khan is never in a boring fight and is always exciting," said Canelo.
If Khan does decide to try to stay disengaged and use his legs throughout the fight, Canelo said he will be ready for that too. He said that the experience in a points win over Erislandy Lara and his only loss, to Floyd Mayweather, have helped prepare him for any style that Khan may try to employ.
"Those were very important experiences. Those experiences are great to get you ready for fighters with that type of style. With every fight you get experience for different styles of fighters and those experiences definitely helped me get ready for this fight," Alvarez told BoxingScene.com.
