Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (45-1-1, 32KOs) is not looking to become a full-time middleweight in the near future.

He will challenge Miguel Cotto (40-4, 33KOs) for WBC middleweight championship on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. HBO Pay-Per-View will carry the bout.

The fight taking place at a catch-weight of 155-pounds. The winner of the bout has been ordered to face mandatory challenger Gennady "GGG" Golovkin next, but neither fighter wants to face him at the full middleweight limit.

If Canelo wins, he would be willing to face Golovkin at 155-pounds, but has no interest in a fight at 160 - for now.

He recalls how he gave away a weight advantage to Floyd Mayweather Jr. by facing him at a catch-weight of 152-pounds in 2013. That was the last time he fought at any weight under 155.

"I've learned not give away any advantages in this sport. When the day comes when I'm ready to go to 160, I will fight the best [in that division that is] there at that time. But right I'm just focused on this fight and then I'm ready for anybody. Gennady is a great fighter. I had the opportunity to spar with him when I was 20. Everything is possible in the future," Canelo told ESPN Deportes Radio.
