According to WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KOs), he very much wants to fight IBO/WBA/IBF champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs) but has no idea when the actual fight will take place.

Canelo returns two weeks later, when he takes on Amir Khan at a catch-weight of 155-pounds at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Canelo is hoping to watch Golovkin's fight to get a look at his performance.

"Yeah, if I have the time, if I'm free on Saturday night, I'll watch it.  I'll sit down and watch it.  If not, I'll probably record it and watch it later.  I follow boxing, so yeah, most likely I'm going to watch it," Canelo said.

"That fight's going to happen.  It's going to have to happen.  The fight is eventually going to happen.  But I'm watching it because I'm a fan, I'm a boxing fan, and I like to watch it.  It's what we do when we're in training camp.  We try to watch all the fights that are televised when we have time to watch them."

Golovkin, should he win, is the mandatory challenger to Canelo's title. There is an agreement with the WBC for that contest to take place in the fall. If Canelo refuses to take part in the contest, then he will be stripped and Golovkin will be elevated to the status of full-champion.

"It's in my future plans.  It's definitely in my future plans.  I want to have that fight. I want to give that to the fans.  I'm just not sure when," Canelo said.

"Right now I'm focused on Amir Khan.  That's my fight.  I want to fight three times this year.  That's my goal.  That's my plan.  But anything can happen in this fight with Amir Khan.  So sometimes you have a plan and it changes, so I'm focused 100 percent on Amir Khan and we'll see right after that."
