Alamodome, San Antonio, Texas - Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs) got revenge for his family with a twelve round unanimous decision over previously undefeated Austin "No Doubt" Trout (26-1, 14KOs) to unify the WBC/WBA junior middleweight titles. The scores were 115-112, 116-111 and 118-109. Trout was dropped in the seventh round.

Trout controlled the first round with his effective jab, but Canelo cut off the ring in the second and started landing hard punches to heat things up. Trout slowed the pace back down in the third, with his jab and movement as Canelo tried to target the body. Canelo came back in a close fourth with shots that were targeted to the chest and body, and also started to use his own jab. Trout return with his jab and left hand in the fifth.

Canelo was really lettimg his hands go in the sixth and began to catch Trout with some big right hands. Trout was using his jab and going to Canelo's body to slow him down.

At the start of the seventh, Trout got dropped, for the first time in his career, with a huge right hand. Trout beat the count, with Canelo staying patient and landing calculated power punches. Trout controlled the better part of the eight with jabs and activity.

Canelo started throwing hard shots in the ninth. The tenth was close with both boxers having their moments, but Canelo landed the harder shots. Trout controlled the tenth with Canelo landing a few good shots. Canelo came roaring back in the eleventh with hard punchs from both hands and was able to catch Trout often.

Anybody who had trout winning on the scorecards are idiots. Canelo clearly won that fight. Trout was hurt several times throughout the fight. Too many hard shots landed on Trout. Trout knew he was defeated. His interview was an example
