Canelo: Cotto is a Natural Fight That People Want

By Salvador Rodriguez

Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (44-1-1, 32KOs) is going to return to action in the month of December, but he knows there is a much bigger fight in the picture for 2015. Cotto (39-4, 32KOs) himself is also going to return in December with a defense of his WBC middleweight championship.

Fans are already clamoring for a fight between Canelo and Cotto. Promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank wants to make that fight on Cinco De Mayo weekend next year, with May 2nd as the target date. Now that Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank are on good terms, there are no issues with making the fight.

"Cotto is a natural fight that people want to see and there will undoubtedly be a lot of talk about this fight because of the rivalry between Mexico and Puerto Rico," said Canelo.

Yeah Canelo. Cotto is a great fight. But make sure you fight Golovkin after getting that belt.
