Mexican superstar Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (49-1-1, 34 KOs) is not concerned with the punching power of IBF, IBO, WBA, WBC middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs).

Canelo and Golovkin are scheduled to face each other during Mexican Independence Day weekend, September 16th, from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Officially, the contest will be the first for Canelo at the full middleweight limit of 160-pounds. In May, went all way up to 164.5-pounds to dominate county rival Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. But prior to that fight, he only fought as high as 155-pounds.

Golovkin has often boasted of his "Mexican style" of fighting - which has helped him become a hit with the Mexican boxing fans, but Canelo plans to set the record straight on that matter when they meet in the ring.

"On September 16th, you will all see what the real Mexican style is," Canelo told BoxingScene.com.

This past March, Golovkin won a twelve round unanimous decision over Daniel Jacobs. It was the first time in Golovkin's career that he went the full twelve round distance.

But prior to that fight, Golovkin had knocked out 23 opponents in a row - with Martin Murray lasting until the eleventh round before that fight was called off.

Canelo is not impressed with those statistics. He says the majority of Golovkin's opponents were on a lower level in terms of their skill - and they stood right in front of GGG with defensive flaws.

"There is a big difference [between me and them]. There is a big margin of difference between the opponents that he's faced and knocked out - and myself. And you will see that on September 16th. Obviously the opponents that are standing there right in front, willing to get hit and ready to get hit and putting their face [out there] to get hit - even a little kid can knock them out, and you will see that on September 16th," Canelo said.
