Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (39-0-1, 29KOs), 21-years-old, has a goal to become the next boxing idol of Mexico. His career moves forward on May 5th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, when he defense his WBA junio rmiddleweight title title against former three division champion "Sugar" Shane Mosley (46-7-1, 39KOs).
"Mexico is my home and always will be. I am very proud of my Mexican heritage and I consider it to be a big part of my identity. Marco Barrera, Erik Morales and Julio Cesar Chavez are just some of the Mexican fighters I know that our community admires. I have the intention to be among these men," said Alvarez.
"No matter what day I'm fighting, I'm giving my all to win. Even in my toughest fights, failure was never an option. I think this fight will especially exciting for all the fans. Being a good example for the Latino community is very important to me and I am filled with pride every time I win."
Canelo has no doubt that he'll achieve the biggest victory of his career this Saturday.
"I'm focused on the fight on May 5. I've never been so prepared in my career. I have no doubt that it will be a fight to remember and I will be victorious," Alvarez said.
