Caballero vs Garcia Purse Bid Set For May 3 By The WBA

The WBA has ordered a purse bid for the featherweight clash between champion Panamanian Celestino "Pelenchin" Caballero (36-4, 23KOs), and mandatory challenger Miguel "Mikey" Garcia (28-0, 24KOs). The purse bid will take place on May 3rd in Miami, according to the Championship Committee of the World Boxing Association .The purse bid takes place at 12 noon at the Marriott Hotel, with Executive Vice President Gilberto Mendoza being present.

I'm certain the WBA will do it's best 2c this happens ion Panama where their based. like the WBO in PR...they need 2 cover the bases...

So, Caballero is fighting Garcia in a great match and WBA "Super Champion" Chris John is fighting ......... yet another nobody. Great fight but classic b.s. by the WBA, which needs to get rid of the fake champions like Chris…

I like this fight. If Caballero can make Garcia pick up the pace it will make for a special night. Caballero doesn't have too many chances left to be involved in great fights so I can see him taking advantage…
