| Caballero vs Garcia Moving To September 7 on Showtime

by Rick Reeno BoxingScene.com has confirmed with promoter Sampson Lewkowicz that Celestino "Pelenchín" Caballero (36-4, 23KOs) vs. Mikey Garcia (28-0, 24KOs) will be moving to September 7 at the Hard Rock Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The fight will be televised on Showtime as part of their ShoBox series. The fight was previously scheduled for July 28th in Indio, California and Telefutura was going to televise. Lewkowicz, who doesn't promote either boxer, secured the rights to the fight by winning the WBA's purse bid. Garcia is the mandatory challenger to Caballero's WBA featherweight title. "The fight will be moving to September 7 at the Hard Rock Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. I felt this fight needed more exposure and we're going to have it on ShoBox, the popular series on Showtime. The venue is done. The date on Showtime is ready. I have sent new contracts to Mayweather Promotions [for Caballero] and Top Rank [for Garcia].
