Caballero Targets The Winner of Juanma-Salido For July

By Richard Archibold Méndez, notifight.com

The featherweight champion of the World Boxing Association, Panamanian Celestino 'Pelenchín' Caballero (36-4, 23KOs), is targeting the winner of Saturday's title fight between Juan Manuel 'Juanma' Lopez and Mexico's Orlando Salido, who battle for Salido's featherweight title of the World Boxing Organization

"We are waiting for the winner of the fight between 'Juanma' Lopez and Salido, because I have been told that I can either of the two in the month of July, but right now nothing is official," said 'Pelenchín'.

According to Caballero, a few days ago he had a conversation with Carl Moretti, Vice President of Top Rank, who informed him that his company is very interested in putting the fight together.

I like the idea of Top Rank trying to put Caba in there with the winner of Lopez vs Salido. The 126 division is stacked right now maaaaaaaaaaan.

A victory of Juanma over Caballero would return him to the top. I think it would be an smart move to face him after Salido.

Lopez will beat Salido this time around, but he's not nearly as good as everyone thought he was. If Salido does beat Lopez again, it'll sure boost Marquez' and Gamboa's wins over Salido though. Those will look really good if…

[quote=NearHypnos;11869699]Why does everyone say Juanma as if he's going to somehow survive Salido. :|... Juanma is cruising for a bruising right about now. He'll be stopped by the 9th.
