The featherweight world champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), Panama's Celestino "Pelenchín" Caballero, has a deep desire to close 2011 with a knockout win. Caballero is training in Las Vegas with coach Jeff Mayweather. He defense the title against hometown boxer Satoshi Hosono on the 31st of December in Kanagawa, Japan. This will be Caballero's second trip to Asia. In October of 2006, Caballero traveled to Thailand and won the WBA super bantamweight title by knocking out local fighter Somsak Sithchatchawal.

"I have studied several of Hosono's fights and I have to admit that he is a tough fighter who does not back down. However, he has many flaws that I can expose to open the door for a knockout. I'm training in the comfort of the cold. I go running Monday to Saturday without any problems. This week we're coming out of the gym weighing 136 pounds. My preparation is key to emerge victorious in Japan," Caballero said.
