| Bute vs. Pascal Announcement is Expected Shortly
|

By Luke Furman The Canadian super-fight between Jean Pascal (27-2, 16KOs) and Lucian Bute (31-1, 24KOs) is reportedly done and all of the osbstacles have been cleared. A formal announcement is expected shortly for May 25th at Olympic Stadium in Montreal. The match will take place at light heavyweight, with Bute moving up from his career weight of 168-pounds. Promoters InterBox and Groupe Yvon Michel have agreed on all of terms. At the moment, sources are stating that Bute-Pascal will be shown by HBO - with the rematch between Carl Froch and Mikkel Kessler being televised by the network on the same night. An agreement was worked out with WBC light heavyweight Chad Dawson, who was scheduled to face Pascal on the same night. Bute looked like sh1t against grachev, getting brutalized by froch may have ruined him though he was well over hyped anyway. I'd have picked pascal to ko bute years ago anyway but now I am very sure, even if pascal has stopped fighting hard and only fights the last 30 seconds of the rounds. |
