The man who pulled off the biggest upset in boxing history, former heavyweight champion Buster Douglas, believes Deontay Wilder (32-0, 32KOs) has all of the right attributes to bring back the heavyweight crown to the United States.

The heavyweight division has been dominated by Eastern European fighters for years, with the Klitschko brothers as the division rulers for the better part of the last decade. Now older brother Vitali has retired and Wladimir stands along with the IBO/WBO/WBA/IBF titles.

Bermane Stiverne capture Vitali's vacant WBC title and defends it against Wilder on January 17th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

"I think it’s a great opportunity for an American heavyweight to get those title belts back. It’s an opportunity to get the championship belts back in the United States. He has a good shot at it, he’s in great shape and he seems to have a good punch and knows a little bit. It’s a great opportunity that’s coming up for him. We’ll see, I’ll be tuning in for sure," Douglas told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
