Bundrage's No-Show at Final Presser Raises Concerns

By David "Los Gatos Rosenberg

Today there was a notable absence at the final press conference for Saturday's big junior welterweight showdown between Devon Alexander and Lucas Matthysse at the Family Arena in St. Charles, MO, which is going to be televised by HBO. IBF champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage, who is scheduled to face his mandatory challenger Sechew Powell was a no show.

Calls to Bundrage were not returned and it can't be confirmed if the former Contender series star will still go through with the fight. The fight is scheduled to be on the untelevised portion of the undercard.

Probably got booked. I wouldnt be suprised if judges cards were already made like the Kotelnik-Alexander fight, and the undercard, Both had exact same scores for both fights iirc. Don King needs to retire from boxing, what a scum

Can't say I blame K-9. His fight isn't even being televised and he probably feels slighted by that. Don King is still probably pissed he beat the hell out of Cory Spinks so he's trying to stick it to K-9…
