During a press conference held on Thursday evening, it was revealed that former WBA interim super featherweight champion Bryan "Tiquito" Vasquez (35-2) had agreed to a promotional agreement with Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions.

The signing was announced to the media members in attendance by Roy Jones Jr. and CEO/Co-Founder Keithe Veltre.

Veltre also announced that Vasquez's first fight under the Roy Jones Jr. Boxing Promotions banner will take place on February 10th at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center in a bout hosted by The D Hotel and Casino against an opponent to be announced in the near future.

Jones said that Vasquez, who is the highest rated contender in the WBA super feathweight rankings, will be fighting for a world title very soon.

"After he gets one or two fights in, he will be ready to fight for a title. Our top priority is (WBA "regular" champion) Jason Sosa and eventually he will be ready for that guy," Jones said while pointing to a poster of WBO super featherweight champion Vasyl Lomachenko.
