Brook's Trainer Confident Porter Will Get Downed on 8/9

Kell Brook is all set to battle Shawn Porter for the IBF welterweight title in New York on August 9. In the last two years, Brook and former champion Devon Alexander saw three planned dates get canceled due to injuries. Alexander was then shocked by Porter, last December, for the title. Porter then retained the belt earlier this year with a four round demolition of former two division world champion Paul Malignaggi.

Brook's trainer Dominic Ingle told Sky Sports' Toe 2 Toe: "Kel's been permanently fighting final elimiinators and now the dream become reality and Kel is well prepared.

"I don't think Porter has been overhyped but up until he fought Devon Alexander he'd been under the radar and he hadn't really impressed me. I've watched him and Keith Thurman a few times and I think Thurman is the better fighter of the two. On paper the Malinaggi and Alexander fights look good but neither of those fighters have got the power that Kell has got.

"Once Kell catches you with a powerful jab or a straight right hand he'll stop fighters like Shawn Poter trying to rush in. He has to keep it clean and not get dragged into a wrestling match. It's his big chance. It's a big ask to go to America and fight an American on his home soil. There's probably been more failures and successes with British fighters going there but Kell is a special fighter and I think he can pull it off."

Kell Brook got rocked twice by Senchenko, a Euro level fighter, not taking anything away from him but he is far far away from Porter, who hit's much much harder!

Porter has taken his game to the next level and will expose Brook for just another stand up, slow, one dimensional European stiff who stacked his record against tomato cans abroad. Sure there's a lot of guys that hit hard.…
But watching that fight and his recent ones - it's like watching two different fighters. A lot more confidence, strength and aggressiveness. Also added a bit of power to the mix.
Which makes me think that there may be some…
