Three division champion Adrien Broner sat ringside on Saturday night at the StubHub Center in Carson, California. He was impressed with Vasyl Lomachenko (2-1, 1KO), who captured the vacant WBO featherweight title with a twelve round decision over previously undefeated Gary Russell Jr. (24-1, 14KOs).

Because of Lomachenko's vast amateur experience, and two Olympic gold medals, Broner was not surprised that he captured a world title in only his third professional contest.

"I think both fighters fought a helluva fight, it was a tough fight and I was entertained. Lomachenko fought a great fight. The number of pro fights don't mean nothing when you have an amateur background like he had. He's a great fighter," Broner told BoxingScene.com
