WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 24KOs) is planning to hold on to his WBC lightweight crown. In June he moved up by two weight divisions to beat Paulie Malignaggi for the WBA belt. BoxingScene.com reported a few days ago that Golden Boy Promotions is planning to do a major Showtime pay-per-view event on November 9th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas - and their target main event is a fight between Broner and hard-puncher Marcos Maidana.

"We'll keep both [belts]. If its a big name at lightweight, if its a big name at welterweight, or junior welterweight - I'll fight anybody. If Maidana wants me, I'll f*** him up. They talkin pay-per-view - lets make it happen. Well my first pick was Matthysse, but he's fighting Danny Garcia and I'm pulling for Danny Garcia. I wanted to fight Matthysse since he's the one everybody is scared of, but if I have to go get a Maidana - I'll go get a Maidana. They don't [scare me]. They both got losses. If Matthysse wins, let them line up because I'm going to f*** Maidana up first and then go get Matthysse," Broner told Showtime.
