WBA welterweight champion Adrien Broner (27-0, 22KOs) has promised to punish and knock Marcos Maidana (34-3, 31KOs) out on Saturday night at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. Broner wants to become the first man to stop Maidana in the ring.
Maidana will be Broner's second fight in the welterweight division. Broner moved up by two weight classes in June to win the WBA championship from Paulie Malignaggi by way of split decision at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
If he makes a mistake and I have a chance to get him out of there Im going to get him out of there. If I just beat him to death, then I beat him to death," Broner said.
Its going to be a hell of a fight. I dont go for knockouts but I really feel Im going to knock this guy out; Im going to be his first stoppage. Im going to stop this guy and were going to move on to the next one.
"Maidana is a good fighter, a hell of a fighter, but hes not on my level. My career is going to the rooftop. Its going to skyrocket. But this is just the beginning. It starts here."Tags: Adrien Broner , Marcos Maidana , Broner-Maidana , Broner vs Maidana
