The weights are in for Saturday's HBO televised doubleheader at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. In the main event, Antonio DeMarco will defend his WBC lightweight championship against undefeated rising superstar Adrien Broner. Both fighters weighed in at 134.5-pounds.

Adrien Broner is gearing up to try and dethrone WBC Lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco when they face off this Saturday night in Atlantic City. The DeMarco fight is one Broner wanted as he called out DeMarco in his post fight interview after defeating Vicente Escobedo this past July. The fight has now come to fruition and Broner was asked why he wanted this fight in particular so badly. “I mean think about it, I'm coming up in weight. I don't want to come up in weight and just fight anybody. I want to come up and fight that number one guy and the number one guy is DeMarco. It wouldn't matter [who the number one guy] was, that's who I would be fighting. I just want to fight the best out there” Broner would tell BoxingScene.

Ask any fighter before a big fight about their future and the answer is almost always the same – ‘I’m not looking past this fight, I’m focused on what’s in front of me.’ Antonio DeMarco claims the aforementioned as his mindset heading into his September showdown with John Molina, Jr. The bout aired live on HBO and was widely portrayed as an introduction for this weekend’s clash with Adrien Broner – also on HBO - at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

If “The Problem” has any difficulty making weight Friday in Atlantic City, Gary Shaw has assured everyone involved that Adrien Broner and his handlers will have a problem even larger than the rising star’s enormous ego. Shaw, whose company promotes WBC lightweight champion Antonio DeMarco, issued this warning to DeMarco’s challenger:

Those wondering whether Adrien Broner would have trouble making weight for a second straight fight might have had their questions answered — it doesn’t appear so. Broner weighed in at 139 pounds on Nov. 9, giving him a week to lose just four pounds and make the lightweight limit for his Nov. 17 bout with Antonio DeMarco, according to information provided to BoxingScene.com by William Boodhoo, an official with the World Boxing Council sanctioning body. Broner’s weight was certified by Rudy Tellez, Boodhoo said.

This Saturday night Adrien “The Problem” Broner will be moving up in weight and trying to become a two time world champion as he takes on current WBC Lightweight title holder Antonio DeMarco in Atlantic City. Broner is known for being an animated fighter and talking to or about his opponents but in the weeks leading up to this fight, Broner has been quite the opposite. When Antonio DeMarco spoke to BoxingScene’s official radio show The Boxing Lab, he said he felt Broner had been quiet because Broner understood he had a real fight ahead of him. BoxingScene caught up with Broner and asked him what he thought about DeMarco’s comment and why he had been more reserved this time around.
