Local favorite Gabriel Bracero was forced to contend with blood early in the bout, but otherwise had few problems in turning away the challenge of Hector Allatore (16-11, 5KO) over eight rounds in their main event Wednesday night at BB King Blues Curb and Grill.

Scores were 80-72 across the board for Bracero (13-0, 1KO), who was dominant throughout, but was forced to contend with a cut over his left eye.

Allatore loses his fifth straight as he falls to 16-12 (5KO). The one time fringe prospect has now tasted defeat in all but one of his past eleven fights.

Local heavyweight Tor Hamer picked up his second straight win with an eighth round decision over Demetrice King. Scores were 80-72 across the board in a bout that never changed gears, but still an impressive performance by Hamer (13-1, 9KO). Divisional spoiler King loses for the fourth time in his last five fights as he falls to 15-19 (13KO).

In a bout were someone’s ‘0’ had to go, it was Victor Valenzuela (8-1, 1KO) who would suffer defeat and in a big way. The Jersey-based featherweight was lit up early, floored and knocked out cold from a right hand to suffer a first round knockout at the hands of Dominican prospect Javier Fortuna (13-0, 10KO). Time was 1:10 of the opening round.

Undefeated welterweight prospect Alex Perez kept (13-0, 7KO) his perfect record intact, but was forced to recover from a fifth round knockdown to outpoint Doel Carasquillo (14-17-1, 12KO) over eight rounds. Despite hitting the canvas, it was a solid and disciplined boxing display offered by the New Jersey southpaw.

Junior middleweight newcomer Delen Parsley scored a four-round unanimous decision over welterweight trialhorse Eberto Medina (5-5, 1KO). Scores were 39-37 across the board. The win was the most significant to date for Parsley (4-0, 2KO), nine days shy of his 23rd birthday. However, a little more seasoning is needed before he can advance to the next level.

More results to come, followed by a full ringside recap from staff writer Ryan Songalia.
