Junior welterweight Mike Alvarado got revenge with a twelve round unanimous decision over Brandon Rios at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas to capture the WBO interim-junior welterweight crown. Last year it was Rios who was victorious, stopping Alvarado in the seventh round. Both fights were wars. This time Alvarado won with scores of 115-113, 115-113 and 114-113.
