San Antonio, Texas - BoxingScene.com caught up with trainer Joel Diaz who is in San Antonio for his fighter Omar Figueroa's Showtime televised clash against Abner Cotto. The fight serves as the co-feature bout underneath the Saul Alvarez-Austin Trout main event at the Alamodome.

Earlier today BoxingScene reported that Juan Manuel Marquez (55-6-1, 40KOs) will likely face Diaz's pupil Timothy Bradley (30-0, 12KOs) on September 14th in Las Vegas. If the fight comes to fruition Diaz is all for it.

"It is a very big fight for us. It is a fight that makes sense with him (Bradley) coming off a win over Pacquiao and then Marquez getting one so I think that they should go at it," Diaz reasoned.

The Southern California based trainer knows that they will have their work cut out for them against the four division champion but is confident that Bradley will leave the ring with his undefewated record intact.

"That is going to be a very tough fight as you saw from Marquez's fight. For us it is going to have to be a technical fight. It is a very difficult fight but not impossible," Diaz told BoxingScene.com.
