BoxingScene.com's Latest Pound-for-Pound Update
By Cliff Rold
Much has happened since the BoxingScene Pound-for-Pound list was updated in November 2013.
Manny Pacquiao returned with an easy win. Carl Froch returned with a win that was anything but. Andre Ward got active again and looked, shy of Floyd Mayweather, like what he’s been for most of the last few years: the best practitioner of the Sweet Science around.
Froch, and the inactive Middleweight champion Sergio Martinez, lose ground in the ratings. Who moves ahead? Consideration was given for removing Froch but the game’s best overachiever gets the benefit of the doubt…for now. Men like Adonis Stevenson and Sergey Kovalev are hot on his heels.
When the sport finished trudging through these barren days of February, a slew of fights are on tap for the men on this list. This could look very different by the summer.
For now, this is your top ten.
BS list. why does Rigondeaux on No. 3 spot? what does he do? Klitschko at No. 2? WTF? and Tim Bradley who has two (2) controversial wins against Manny and Provo? and Gayweather who has 45-0 with no legit opponents…Comment by Martinplateado on 02-19-2014
Roman Gonzalez & Danny Garcia above Sergio Martinez?, wthComment by royjonesjrKTFO on 02-19-2014
This is a great list I've seen in awhile except Froch is NOT P4P caliber. All he is is just a tough guy w/ average skills, and a good chin. We talking Pound-4-Pound BEST here. Replace him with Gennady Golovkin.…Comment by royjonesjrKTFO on 02-19-2014
Mickey's resume I think is better than Rigo.
P4P isn't about who has the better resume. It's about abilities / talent / skills, etc.Comment by MarkPosadas26 on 02-18-2014
