Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is planning to stage at least five more fights for WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao, and that includes the trilogy with Juan Manuel Marquez, which is scheduled for November 12 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Arum sees Pacquiao fighting for at least two more years and then calling it a career.
"I would envision five more fights for Pacquiao and that includes his fight this November 12 against Juan Manuel Marquez," Arum told Yahoo contributor Granville Ampong.
Beyond Marquez, the likely scenario is a fight with the winner of September's welterweight battle between WBC champion Victor Ortiz and Pacquiao's main rival, Floyd Mayweather Jr. Arum is grooming welterweight contender Mike Jones for a possible Pacquiao fight in 2012. Another Top Rank fighter, Kermit Cintron, is moving down to 147, and junior welterweight champion Timothy Bradley is possibly entering the Pacquiao sweepstakes in the near future.
