Cruiserweight contender BJ Flores (28-1-1, 18KOs) has confirmed to BoxingScene.com that he reached an agreement with powerful adviser Al Haymon.
Since the start of the year, Haymon has been on a signing spree. Haymon has already signed up WBC champion Adonis Stevenson, IBF champion Lamont Peterson, British star Amir Khan, Rances Barthelemy, former champion Chad Dawson, Anthony Peterson, and several others.
Besides those fighters, Haymon also works with Floyd Mayweather Jr., Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Omar Figueroa, Leo Santa Cruz, Paulie Malignaggi and at least 30-40 other boxers.
Flores, 34-years-old, was last seen in the ring in October of 2012, and his next return is targeted for the month of May. There is a possibility that Flores will return on the May 10th undercard to the Chris Arreola-Bermane Stiverne rematch in Los Angeles. Flores has been very active as an expert analyst, primarily for the televised boxing cards on NBC Sports.
"I'm real hungry to get back in the ring. I've had promotional problems, managerial problems, promises that were broken - but now I have the right team behind me. I'm very, very excited about this deal. I just want to get in the ring and fight. It's hard to sit ringside for NBC Sports without feeling that hunger to fight. I'm coming back in the month of May and there is going to be a big announcement about another fight in the summer, but first I have to take care of business in May," Flores told BoxingScene.com.
