Billy Joe Saunders has confirmed that he is working with a new trainer.

Saunders, 27, had Danny Vaughan, Ben Davies and Johnney Roye helping him out on December 3 when he outpointed Artur Akavov over 12 rounds to retain his belt.

But his long-term future will be under the tutelage of Adam Booth, who he has been training with for the past couple of weeks.

The revelation came on the back of Booth posting an image of his stable, which contains the likes of Ryan Burnett and new man Charlie Edwards, along with Mitchell Smith, ahead of what he called “a busy year.”

Saunders (24-0, 12 KOs) followed that up with a post of his own in which he said that he is “looking forward to the future” alongside Booth.

Sparring in the gym will be far from scarce and the first man he can go to for a move around in the gym would be former foe Andy Lee, who he knocked down twice in December 2015 en-route to taking the WBO belt from him on points in Manchester.

Saunders’ next defence of the WBO belt is expected to be revealed soon, with promoter Frank Warren set to confirm dates in the BT Sport/BoxNation link up.
