Former featherweight world champion Billy Dib is relieved that he no longer has any promotional ties to rapper Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson. Dib signed a three year promotional contract with 50 Cent in 2012. At the time, 50 Cent started a boxing promotional company called SMS Promotions and the company was going to be a partnership with best friend Floyd Mayweather Jr. That partnership fell apart when 50 Cent and Mayweather began a public feud that last for two years.

Jamie Speight is hoping that he can get a slot on the undercard of David Haye’s next fight. The featherweight fighter (13-8, 1 KO) was left disappointed earlier this month when his clash with former world champion Billy Dib (39-4, 23 KOs) was canned just a fortnight before it was set to happen.
The preparations for the comeback of former two-weight world champion David Haye are running far from smoothly –– and that has been further proved by the latest setback suffered to the ‘Haye Day’ promotion. Haye (26-2, 24 KOs), 35, is set to return to the ring after a three-and-a-half-year hiatus in two weeks’ time, on January 16, at London’s O2 Arena against Australia’s Mark De Mori (30-1-2, 26 KOs) over 12 rounds in a non-title showdown.
Also taking to the ring at Haye Day will be power punching cruiserweight Wadi Camacho (15-5, 5 KOs), who faces veteran campaigner Jindrich Velecky, who will look to test Camacho ahead of a potential Southern Area title fight in February. That follows another battle of Brits as Kent’s fiery Josh Kennedy (4-0, 4 KOs) takes on Hull’s Luke Fash in a super bantamweight bout, and unbeaten cruiserweight Jose Lopes (5-0, 5 KOs), dubbed “The New David Haye†by trainer Don Charles, faces Darren Snow, who is coming off a victory over unbeaten Ryan Crawford in the first event of the evening.
Former world champion Billy Dib (39-4, 23KOs) suffered a tragic loss on Saturday, when his wife, 21-year-old Sara Selim Dib, lost her battle with leukemia. A funeral service was held on Sunday at Rookwood cemetery in Sydney, Australia. She was diagnosed with leukemia only eight weeks ago. According to family members her unexpected passing was attributed to complications with her treatment.
FORMER TWO TIME WORLD CHAMP BILLY DIB has publicly stated he wants to fight Toowoomba's IBO World Champ Jack Asis. Previously the only talk of the bout was done in private with Dib personally phoning Asis's manager Brendon Smith on two occasions. Today Dib posted on his facebook page "Five years ago Jack 'The Assassin' Asis and I faced off in Wollongong in a fight that I won via a 4th round decisive knockout. In what could be called a Cinderella story he has gone on to become the current IBO super featherweight Champion. However the loss to me still bothers him and he has thrown down the challenge.
