Berto-Ortiz Rematch is Heading To MGM Grand in Vegas

By David "Los Gatos" Rosenberg

Victor Ortiz handed Andre Berto his first pro defeat earlier this year in a fight that many experts called a 'Fight of the Year' candidate. Both fighters hit the deck in a very exciting bout that took place in Connecticut and was televised by HBO.

Since that fight took place, Ortiz was knocked out by Floyd Mayweather Jr. in September, and Berto, who lost his WBC welterweight strap in the loss to Ortiz, captured the IBF welterweight title by knocking out Jan Zaveck. Berto vacated the title to move forward with the Ortiz rematch.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told The Las Vegas Review Journal that the rematch will happen on February 11th at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The rematch will be broadcast by Showtime Championship Boxing.

Some comments in here clearly expose the ignorance on this site  Berto wins this one, late stoppage.

I hope it's just as good as the original, if not better!!!! My duckets are on Ortiz, just like last time.

It was a heck of a fight so it is possible it could do good in Vegas, they have to do a good job promoting though. I hope they do well.
